Review Regulations
Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of these regulations is to define matters related to the review of manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Convergence Science for Youth.
Article 2 (Editorial Board)
The Editorial Board determines all matters related to the submission, review, and publication of manuscripts submitted for publication in the journal.
Article 3 (Appointment of the Editor-in-Chief)
- The Editor-in-Chief is appointed by the President for a term of two years.
- Members of the Editorial Board are appointed by the President in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief.
Article 4 (Composition of the Editorial Board)
The Editorial Board shall consist of approximately 10 members, including the Editor-in-Chief.
Article 5 (Review Procedures)
The review of manuscripts shall follow these procedures:
- Reviewers are recommended by the relevant Editorial Board member and appointed by the Editor-in-Chief.
- The Editor-in-Chief requests one Editorial Board member to recommend two reviewers.
- One of the two reviewers may include the Editorial Board member.
- The Editor-in-Chief requests the appointed reviewers to evaluate the manuscript.
- If the review result requires revision and resubmission, a second round of review shall be conducted. The review shall result in a decision of either “accept with revisions” or “reject.”
- The Editorial Office gives final approval for manuscripts upon completion of the review process.
Article 6 (Review)
- Each reviewer shall determine the suitability of the manuscript for publication based on the review criteria and may request revisions.
- The review shall consider creativity of the research topic, appropriateness of the research methodology, organization and coherence of the manuscript, expected impact or contribution of the research results, accuracy of references and citations, duplication, and plagiarism.
- Reviews shall be conducted confidentially, and the list of Editorial Board members shall be published in the journal.
- The journal compiles the results of the reviewers and the Editorial Board and informs the authors of any required revisions, or if the manuscript is rejected, the reasons for the decision.
- Authors who fail to respond to revision requests within 10 days are deemed to have their manuscript rejected.
- The Editorial Board must verify that the revisions made by the authors have been properly addressed. If the revisions are insufficient, the Editorial Office may request further revisions or decide to reject the manuscript.
- Manuscripts finally approved by the Editorial Board shall be published in the journal.
Article 7 (Final Decision)
Manuscripts shall be evaluated according to the following criteria, and the final decision on publication shall be made by the Editorial Board:
- Accept as is: Manuscripts that can be published immediately without Editorial Board discussion or require only minor corrections (e.g., typographical errors).
- Accept with revisions: Manuscripts that can be published after confirming that requested revisions have been properly made.
- Revise and resubmit: Manuscripts for which an additional review by the same reviewer(s) is conducted before the Editorial Board meeting, and the final publication decision is based on that review.
- Reject: Manuscripts deemed unsuitable for publication without discussion in the Editorial Board meeting.
Article 8 (Appeals)
If an appeal is submitted, the Editorial Office shall individually notify the applicant of the receipt of the appeal within three days. The Editorial Board shall hold a meeting to review the appeal, and the results shall be communicated within two weeks from the date the appeal was received.
Article 9 (Notification of Results)
Upon completion of the manuscript review by the reviewers, the Editor-in-Chief shall send the review results to the author and ensure that the results are accessible online.
Article 10 (Matters Not Specified in These Regulations)
Any matters not specified in these regulations shall be determined by the Editorial Board.
Addendum
Amendments to these regulations shall take effect from the date of approval by the Standing Board of Directors following deliberation by the Editorial Board.
