Research Ethics Regulation
Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of these Research Ethics Regulations is to present the fundamental principles and directions regarding the roles and responsibilities required for researchers submitting manuscripts to the journal to prevent research misconduct and ensure research integrity in compliance with publication ethics.
Article 2 (Subject)
This code of ethics shall be applied to both members and non-members who are either directly or indirectly related to the submitted manuscript
Article 3 (Researcher’s General Ethic)
- Researchers must uphold academic integrity and objectivity throughout all stages of the study and are responsible for ensuring that research misconduct such as duplicate submission, redundant or duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism does not occur.
- Authors must provide relevant data and research outcomes upon reasonable request, unless restricted by intellectual property rights or other research-related limitations, to allow others to review and verify the research results.
Article 4 (Author)
- All individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the research and are able to take public responsibility for its content should be listed as co-authors.
- All co-authors must agree to be listed, and the individual who made the principal contribution should be listed first.
- Authors must list their affiliation at the time the research was conducted.
Article 5 (Research Method)
- The research method should be described in sufficient detail and clarity to enable replication by other researchers in the same field.
- The fabrication or manipulation of research data is strictly prohibited.
- All references must be clearly cited, and in the case of secondary sources, appropriate citation formats must be used.
Article 6 (Subject of study)
- For studies involving human participants, researchers must protect participants’ confidentiality and obtain informed consent by explaining the purpose, methods, procedures, expected benefits and potential risks of the research to participants or their legal guardians.
- Researchers must inform participants or their legal guardians of their right to refuse or withdraw from the study at any time without penalty.
- For animal studies, researchers must describe methods used to minimize pain and distress in the animals.
- The editorial board members may request consent forms and other related documents when necessary.
Article 7 (General ethics of the editorial board members)
- Editorial board members should review submissions through an impartial evaluation process and recognize the significant time and effort required.
- The editorial board members must consider all papers impartially and without bias.
- Submitted papers must be protected from unauthorized use. Reviewers must not use or cite the content of unpublished manuscripts.
Article 8 (Review procedure)
- Reviewers must not communicate directly with authors, and authors must not know the identity of the reviewers.
- If the reviewers cannot review the paper fairly because of the personal relations with the author, the paper must be referred to the Editor-in-Chief.
- Reviews must be completed within the designated time frame. If reviewers are unable to complete the review on time, they must notify the Editor-in-Chief promptly.
- Editorial board members should be aware of the disadvantages toward the authors caused by the delayed procedure.
Article 9 (Reviewer Ethics and Responsibilities)
- Review comments must be written in a courteous and professional manner to avoid misunderstanding.
- Reviewers should clearly distinguish between mandatory revisions and recommended revisions.
- When recommending rejection, reviewers should provide sufficient and specific justification to prevent unnecessary disputes.
- Reviewers are responsible for the content and tone of their comments and must follow ethical and professional standards in peer review.
Article 10 (Multiple submissions and plagiarism)
The journal must verify that manuscripts are not simultaneously submitted to multiple journals and do not involve duplicate publication, salami publication, or plagiarism prior to review.
Addendum
Any amendments to these regulations shall be reviewed by the Editorial Board and approved by the Board of Directors.
These regulations shall take effect from the date of approval by the Board of Directors.
